VIDEO: Layered Die Cuts

Hello there my stamping friends. It’s Carrie Rhoades here sharing a new video up on the Heffy Doodle YouTube channel. I created a jungle scene using the new Go Wild die set.

I wanted this jungle to be very lush and full, so I did a bit of layering. I cut the Go Wild leafy frame twice, from two different colors of green card stock. I rotated one and then adhered the two together, giving this frame a much fuller look. I liked the look of the lighter color in the back and the darker green frame on top. I did not stop there with the layering of die cuts. I wanted to add some bright pops of color in the form of some flowers. For these I used the Leafy Laurel die set. It added the perfect touch to the jungle scene, but also as a cut accent for my little rhino. All the animals I used on this card are from the Two by Two stamp set. Which has to be one of my faves, as I adore giraffes. You can see the giraffe on a baby card I made right HERE. These critters are so much fun to color. I used my Copic Markers and the Alcohol Marker Friendly card stock from Heffy Doodle, which I have to say, takes my coloring up a notch!

Now let’s watch this card come together. In this video you can see how I made the sky background, the layering of all the die cuts and the coloring of these darling critters. If you can not see the video on this screen, you can also watch it right here.

I hope you enjoyed the video, I love being able to share how my cards come together with you. And this was such a fun card to make. I love how quick and easy the night sky came together, probably because ink blending on Heffy Doodles White card stock is so easy, as it is one of the smoothest card stocks around. I love to use it for Hot Foiling too!

Below you will find all the supplies I used to make this card.

If you can not see the supplies listed above you can find a visual list right here.

Thank you so much for stopping by! See you again soon!
