You Are Plane Awesome

Happy Friday Darlings! It’s Jo Laverty here with another Heffy Doodle creation. Today I want to share with you a card I made using the wonderful ‘Flying High‘ stamp set and some fun patterned paper taken from the ‘Summer Holiday‘ pad.

If you would like to find out how I made this fun primary coloured card, read on for the step-by-step tutorial.

Background

Using a white textured cardstock and a rectangle die, run both through a die cut machine. Next, using a blending brush and Distress Oxides in ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ and ‘Picked Raspberry’, blend the colours from light to dark.

Die Elements

To create the scalloped frame, I used double sided foam paper (3mm Thick) and diagonal stripe blue patterned paper from the ‘Summer Holiday‘ pad. I adhered the patterned paper to one side of the foam paper, then taking the largest die from the ‘Scalloped Imperials Frame‘ die set, I ran both through the die machine. Next, taking some white textured card stock and a dotty yellow patterned paper from ‘Summer Holiday‘ pad, I used a cloud outline die from the ‘Silver Linings Cloud Border Dies‘ set, and ran them through the die machine. I ink blended the textured white cardstock in Distress Oxides’ ‘Spun Sugar’.

Images

Using Heffy Doodles ‘Alcohol Friendly Marker Cardstock‘, I stamped and die cut a range of cute images from the ‘Flying High‘ stamp set. I used Ohuhu alcohol markers to color in the images and used a white Gelly Roll pen to add in some highlights.

Final Touches

To finish off the card, I adhered the images to the background layers using some thick foam tape, added some sequins from the ‘Sugar Plum‘ sparkle mix, and small die cut patterned paper hearts.

I hope you enjoy this card and the step-by-step tutorial. Don’t forget to tag Heffy Doodle in all your HD creations so that we can show them some love. Crafty Hugs, Jo x
