Whoopsie Daisy!

Hi, friends! It’s Cassie here, and I’m back with another card to share with you. When I saw the Everyday Sentiment Duo set I knew I was going to get good use out of the whoopsie daisy sentiment. Who else is guilty of being late to send cards? Hopefully I’m not the only one.

I started today’s card by taking a piece of of 110 lb white card stock that was cut down to 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 and ink blending Lucky Clover and Mermaid Lagoon over the piece. I didn’t worry about making the blend too perfect, because I mostly wanted to just make sure the piece was covered with color. Then I smooshed my inks into my craft mat, spritzed it with water and blotted the water up with my paper. It reated this beautiful watercolor background. I did that a couple times and then let it dry, spritzing it with clean water, and let it dry again. It’s gorgeous to see all the layers that Distress Oxides can create!

Last week I had cut out this scalloped corner rectangle from the Clover Frames dies as well as the heart and had left the scrap to be used later. It came in handy today! I adhered it to the card panel once the panel was dry, using foam tape. Then I got to stamping! I stamped images from the Party PaloozaBeary Big Heart, and the present from Happy Snappy Crocs. All were colored in with Copics and die cut with the coordinating dies. For the cake I only colored the bottom layer because I wanted the sitting bear to sit on top of it. I trimmed off the top layer so it wasn’t visible. Each of the pieces was adhered to the heart panel. If they hung over the open heart die cut I made sure to add foam tape  so that it didn’t sag.

I die cut the Stitched Strips of Ease largest die and heat embossed my sentiment from Everyday Sentiment Duos on it with white embossing powder and attached that with foam tape as well. The finishing touch was to add some white gel pen accents and some white Nuvo drops! And that was my card for today! I hope you enjoyed it. Please tell me I’m not the only one who needs to stock pile belated birthday cards because I’m the worst at getting them in the mail! 🙂 Hope you’re all having a great day!
