Whatever the Weather

Hello friends! It’s Ashley with a new sweet scene for you today! I created a rainy day scene with two adorably unexpected friends that is the perfect card to send to someone you are thinking about.

I started by blending Distress Oxide inks in Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, and Dried Marigold onto Butterscotch cardstock for pretty ombre sunset colors. I then used the Rain on My Parade stencil with Versamark ink and clear sparkle embossing powder for some subtle raindrops. I decided I wanted some rain to stand out a bit more, so I used the same Distress Oxide colors with the raindrops stamp from Quack Me Up. For the ground, I die cut some of my favorite Oyster Shell cardstock with one of the Stitched Slopey Joes. I then cut the whole background piece with an Imperial Stitched Rectangle die and added it to a piece of grey plaid patterned paper.

I stamped the dog from Hot Diggity Dog and the duck and umbrella from Quack Me Up on Alcohol Marker Friendly cardstock with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. I colored them with Copics and cut them out before adding them to the scene with foam tape for dimension. I stamped the sentiment from Quack Me Up onto Oreo Crunch cardstock with Versamark ink and embossed with white. I added the sentiment to the card with foam tape as well. To finish, I added a scattering of dew drops to add to the rainy/wet feel I wanted for the scene.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
