(Video) Storyboarding Card Design with Channin Pelletier

Hello Heffy Doodlers!! It’s Channin here and in today’s video I share with you a fun and unique card design I’m calling storyboarding! Watch to see how I create my scenes with the adorable Purrfect Day Stamp Set and make tiny alterations to emphasize the story I’m trying to convey. Storyboarding Card Design with Channin Pelletier

First I created a rough sketch of my storyboards by stamping my scenes onto some scratch paper. I also used this test run to play around with how I wanted to alter the eyes of the kitties to change their expressions. 

Once I had my scenes worked out, I then trimmed some white cardstock down to create four 2 3/8” x 1 3/4” rectangles. I then stamped my four scenes in Memento Tuxedo Black onto these rectangles. Next, I made my alterations to the eyes and I then copic called the images. 

When I had finished coloring all the images I then drew a line across each one of the scenes with a pencil to ground them. I then created masks of the sleeping and pouncing cats out of a post-it note. Next, I placed the mask over the cat in one of the scenes, masked off the bottom portion of the scene (just above the grounding line) and then ink blended with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. When I finished, I removed the masks and then repeated this process for the other scenes. 

Next, I stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment on a strip of black cardstock. I then adhered the scenes onto an A2 top-folding card base made from pink cardstock. Lastly, I finished the card by adhering the sentiment with foam squares.
