(Video) Mirror Stamping: Tips and Tricks with Channin Pelletier

Hello Heffy Doodlers!! It’s Channin here and today I have a fun winter card and video to share! In today’s video I tackle mirror stamping and share my favorite tips and tricks for getting those bold crisp mirrored images!! You can watch the video below or over at our YouTube channel.

Mirror Stamping: Tips with Channin Pelletier

First I created a slimline card base by trimming a 110lb sheet (11”x 8.5”) of white cardstock at 7” to create a 8.5” x 7” base. I then scored and folded horizontally at 3.5”. Next, I used the First Snow Stencil to trace a snow drift onto the trimmed off portion of cardstock created when I made my card base.

I then fussy cut the drift out and ink blended along the top to add the appearence of depth. Next, I ink blended along the top of my card base to create the sky. Once I finished ink blending a splattered some white paint to resemble snow. I then die cut 5 sets of pine trees using the Forest Builder Dies. I then ink blended all the diecuts and glued the trees together.

Next, I stamped my sentiment and all my images (except for the dog I wanted mirrored) from the Wanna Build a Snowman and Yappy Happy Mail Stamp Sets in Memento Tuxedo Black and then set them aside.

I then used the matching dies to die cut an unstamped diecut of the dog I wanted to mirror. I then popped the Water Media Mat into my MISTI. Next, I tapped down the cardstock negative to the mat and then positioned the stamp inside the opening. Once the stamp was in place I folded my MISTI over to pick up the stamp and then stamped the image directly onto the mat. Next, I popped my unstamped dog diecut into the opening of the negative and then pressed all over the diecut to transfer the ink from the mat to the cardstock. I then removed the diecut and repeated this process once more to make the image darker. With all my images now stamped, I then copic colored. Once I had finished coloring, I die cut my images out with the matching dies.

I then adhered the snow drift onto the card front and then stamped the second portion of my sentiment. Next, I adhered the die cut sentiment above the stamped with liquid glue. I then finished my card by adhering all my trees and images with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed!! Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
