Video: Let’s Hang Out

Hello! It’s Kari here today with a video using the new Let’s Hang Out stamp set. I just adore these bats and spiders in this stamp set (not so much in real life)…and I couldn’t help but make TWO cards with some spooky and inspirational backgrounds.

I used a couple of my favorite inks to create these backgrounds: Distress Oxide Inks and Alcohol Inks. Watch the video below or on YouTube:

Card 1: Distress Oxide Inks

For the first card, I used some Distress Oxide inks to create a spooky Sky! I first cut a mask with a circle die and placed it in the top right corner of an A2 sized panel (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″). Then I began ink blending with these Oxide colors: Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Uncharted Mariner and Black Soot. I then cut out the frame from the Elm Street Dies.

I also cut 2 trees from this die set, and placed one on top of the other with foam tape (turning one of them so it created a fuller tree). This is where I could hang one of the bats!

I stamped some of the small bats from the stamp set in the background. These are a perfect size to scatter about the background. Then I added a sentiment and the flying bat near the moon with foam tape.

I put it all together on a heavyweight card panel.

Card 2: Alcohol Ink Background

For the second card, I created a simple alcohol inked background. (Watch the video for easy instruction on how to get that wispy look!) I thought this would be a perfect background for those hairy little spiders in the Cathedral Window!

I used the new *Stencil to add some black glitter paste to the front panel and let that dry while I was creating the background and coloring the spiders.

Once dry, I cut out a window with the Cathedral Windows die and adhered that panel to my alcohol inked panel. I stamped the sentiment and the spiderweb from the stamp set using Archival Ink.

Then I attached the spiders with foam tape…aren’t they cute?!

I’ve put together a list of the supplies I used, with affiliate links where possible. If you make a purchase using one of these links, I may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. This helps to continue creating fun projects. Thank you for your support!

I hope you enjoyed these projects today! Thanks for stopping by,
