Using Die Cut Words to create fun backgrounds
I have a challenge for you all today! I want you to look through your word dies and think of a fun way to use them to create a background. This is what I have done in this card – and doesn’t it look cool!
First I cut a panel using the On The Edge dies, and then I realised that this You Are So Pawesome die fits absolutely perfectly in between the two stitched lines. Then, using a colour palette that I found online, I picked a selection of inks, and swiped colour onto some cardstock, before die cutting the phrase.
I used some wet glue to stick them down – only because the wet glue allows a few seconds to maneuver around the die cut so it was aligned properly. Then it was as simple as adding a few stamped images on top.
The dog is from the Who Let The Dogs Out stamp set, and the Cake and balloons from Popping By. The sentiment is from the Little Label Stamps set, with the coordinating die set to create a lovely thin strip of yellow card.
Using 3mm deep foam tape, I added the whole panel onto a notecard, and for a final touch – some lovely enamel dots! So cute!
And my favourite thing about this You Are So Pawesome die – you can easily remove the P to create a ‘You Are So Awesome’ die! I love versatility!!
Until next time… happy crafting!
