Tone on Tone – January 2023 Heffy Doodlers Challenge

Hey crafty friends, it’s Amanda Stevens again, here to announce the winner of the December challenge and issue our first one for 2023! I’d like to thank everyone who entered the Peppermint Kisses Challenge last month. There were some adorable cards! You can see all of the entries over in the Heffy Doodlers group on Facebook. You can also share your projects and meet new crafty friends. I try to share Lesley’s weekly videos there too when goes live.

I know you are excited to see who won, so please help me congratulate Linda Andersson! She used images from Fluffy Puffy Unicorns, and layered the Scribble on My Heart and Circle Masquerade stencils to create the scene on this sweet card. Isn’t it just darling? She also entered a heart-shaped card in the challenge last month; head on over to the December album to see!

To choose the winner, all entries (except those by Lesley and the current design team) were assigned a number, in order of posting. We used random.org to choose the winning number.

We’re kicking off the new year with clean and simple vibes. This month, create a card with TONE ON TONE colors, using Heffy Doodle products (mostly) and enter to win a £35 gift card! The challenge starts now in the Heffy Doodlers Facebook Group, and runs through February 5, 2023. Want to see what I created for the challenge?

I created a fun birthday card with both a white background and white jumbo sentiment for a TONE ONE TONE effect. To keep the sentiment legible, I added woodgrain texture to the background and offset the stacked sentiment with layers of red cardstock. This allows the bright gumball machine to become the focal point and helps the punny sentiment inside make sense. (Head on over to my blog for more photos and step-by-step instructions.) Of course, you don’t need to use white for your card, shades of any color you like will work.

Inspired to play along? Pull out your Heffy Doodle stamps and create a card of your own with TONE ON TONE colors! To enter, go to the Heffy Doodlers Facebook Group and post a picture of your project in the January 2023 Challenge album (it will be pinned to the top). Enter as many cards as you like. The winner will be randomly chosen from all entries posted prior to Midnight (UT) on February 5, 2023. You are not limited to cards, feel free to post tags, scrapbook pages, home decor projects, etc. Just be sure the bulk of the stamps and dies used are from Heffy Doodle and it fits the TONE ON TONE theme.
