Tiger Prints Birthday

Hello Heffy Doodlers! Tallie here with you again today. One of my friends loves tigers, so when I saw that Lesley had created the Two by Two Zoo Animals stamp set with the striped felines in, this design immediately came to mind! Paired with a few older products and the Happy Birthday Jumbo Sentiment Dies, this is the perfect birthday card for my tiger prints loving friend!

I started out with the background for this card, inking on some Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles Distress Ink over the UnbeLEAFable stencil a panel of Kiwi Crush cardstock. This gave me a great backdrop to add some more foliage using the Tree-mendous Peekaboo Tree, Amazonian Leaves and the Freshly Cut Grass dies. I made sure to vary the colours to build up the scene layers.

I die cut some kraft cardstock with the Freshly Cut Grass dies, blending on some Ground Expresso Distress ink to add some dimension. I also used a couple of brown Copic markers to add some dot detail and texture, particularly in the shadow areas of where the tigers would go.

I stamped out and coloured the two tigers from the Two by Two Zoo Animals stamp set, selecting some bright oranges to contrast with the greens in the background. I die cut these with the coordinating dies.

And now for the most creative part – the tiger print sentiment! I die cut a piece of Pumpkin Patch carstock with the Happy Birthday Jumbo Sentiment die, blending on some Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink in a gradient. To give it that tiger stripe look, I used two grey Copic markers to add in the stripes right across the sentiment. I think the end look is striking! I used a white background to help distinguish it from the background and tie in the die cut tigers.

The final touch was to add a white heat embossed sentiment from the Wild at Heart Sentiment stamps.

I love how this latest release really rounded out the Heffy Doodle product line to give us multiple scene building freedom!
