Sweet Paper Hugs

Hey crafty friend, it’s Amanda Stevens and I’m back with more inspiration for the GOLDEN OLDIES challenge. Have you played along yet? There’s still time!

For today’s card, I pulled out a bunch of my favorite Heffy Doodle supplies and got busy die cutting. Most pieces were cut from colored cardstock or pattern paper, but I wanted to add my own color to some of the accents, so I cut those from white and colored them with alcohol markers.

A layered sentiment always looks better, so I stacked a few on top of the shadow, then popped the whole thing up with foam tape. I tucked the bear and the flowers underneath with a thinner layer of foam to give them some height. Sparkle is a must on most of my cards, so I just had to add gems and sequins to finish! What do you think?

This card is so sweet and soft, it really does feel like a paper hug. I love the way it turned out. If you’d like to recreate this card, here are the supplies you’ll need…

SUPPLY LIST
Heffy Doodle Mini Die Cutting Machine
Beary Big Heart Stamps and Coordinating Dies
Deckled Paper Hugs Dies
Mini Scalloped Imperial Rectangle Dies
Leafy Laurel Circle Dies
Slimline Mini Mail Dies (retired)
Summer Holiday 6×6 Paper Pad
Strawberry Milk and Frozen Fractals Sparkle Mixes

If you’re wondering where the bear die is on the supply list, it’s included with the Heffy Doodle Mini Die Cutting Machine, along with a sweet little embossing folder. I have to be honest, I originally ordered the machine because it was cute; I had no idea how useful it would be! I keep it on my desk because the footprint is so small. Plus, it’s lightweight and easy to move around. The 3″ wide plates fit about 80% of my dies, so I use it all the time.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. For more information on the GOLDEN OLDIES spring challenge and how you can play along for your chance to win a £35 gift voucher, click here.
