Golden Oldies – Spring 2024 Challenge
Hello crafty friend. Amanda Stevens here with a new Heffy Doodlers challenge and a few updates! Before we go into those, let’s announce the winner of our last challenge. We’d like to thank everyone who entered the Mirror, Mirror Challenge. There were some adorable cards and great ideas for mirror stamping! You can see all of the entries over in the Heffy Doodlers group on Facebook. While you’re there, you can share your projects and meet new crafty friends.
I know you’re excited to see who won, so please help me congratulate K8 from Keight Krafts! Isn’t her mirror stamped background cool? I love the soft color she stamped the lion in and the sparkle!
To choose the winner, all entries (except those by Lesley and the current design team) were assigned a number, in order of posting. We used random.org to choose the winning number.
I mentioned some changes above; we’re switching from monthly to quarterly challenges to give everyone more time to participate. Don’t worry if you are a quick crafter, you can still enter as many projects as you’d like! The theme for the Spring Challenge is GOLDEN OLDIES. That’s right, pull out all of your favorite Heffy Doodle goodies, mix the old with the new, and show us how you use your golden oldies! To kick off the challenge, I made a sweet mini-slimline thank you card…
If you are wondering how I was able to use a full size slimline die and turn it into a mini-slimline, it was easy. I partially die cut the scalloped frame (only cover about half of the die with the top plate), then I shifted the uncut end of the die down, lining up the scallops, and covered that side of the die to cut the rest of the frame. This technique works great with repeating dies.

Ready to play along? Pull out your Heffy Doodle goodies and create a card of your own. To enter, go to the Heffy Doodlers Facebook Group and post a picture of your project in the Spring 2024 Challenge album (it will be pinned to the top). Enter as many cards as you like. The winner will be randomly chosen from all entries posted prior to Midnight (UT) on June 30, 2024. You are not limited to cards, feel free to post tags, scrapbook pages, home decor projects, etc. Just be sure the bulk of the stamps and dies used are from Heffy Doodle, and you incorporate the GOLDEN OLDIES theme.
