Shine Like a Diamond

Hi Heffydoodlers! Ali here, joining you once again to celebrate the amazing 2nd release by Heffy Doodle Stamps! The Geology Rocks set has such great versatility, it can be used for both male and female cards and a wide range of occasions (just check out the amazing cards range of cards by the design team!). That enormous diamond caught my eye immediately so I just had to create a sparkly shaker card with it!

I started by making a smooshed background piece using Distress Oxide inks Picked Raspberry and Worn lipstick – dabbing them onto acetate, spraying with water and flipping over onto a piece of watercolour paper. Once dried, I flicked droplets of Shimmer Spritz onto the piece to add some sparkle. I stamped the diamond from the Geology Rocks Set onto POW Glitter paper (American Crafts), using versamark ink and embossed with silver embossing powder.  Before I heat-set this, I made sure I pre-heated my heat tool so as not to melt the glitter paper and then fussy-cut the diamond. I also stamped the sentiment (masking, to just stamp the “like a diamond”) and embossed with silver powder. I die-cut the word shine from a WPlus9 die set and adhered to the background piece (using 3d foam to pop up the diamond & sentiment).

I used my Stitched Rectangle Stax to cut two rectangles in adjacent sizes from a white card front panel, and replaced one rectangle as a feature. I then created a shaker window with a panel of acetate and placed 3D foam on the back of this panel.  I sprinkled some sequins onto the middle of the background piece and then adhered the front ‘rectangle panel’ to this. I then adhered all of this to a white card-front.  Sparkle overload!!

Thanks for joining me and happy Heffydoodling!

Ali xx
