Sending You Loads of Love!

Hey, Friends!

It’s Kelly Martin here, and I’m back today to share this card I made for my brother’s birthday!

One thing I love about so many of our favorite craft companies is that the stamp sets they create are so versatile and can be used for a vareirty of occasions.

My brother is a lover of the outdoors and growing tasty things to eat, so I figured this Farmyard Fun stamp set would be the perfect starting point to make a birthday card for him!

I cut a 4.25 x 11 inch piece of cardstock and then scored it down the middle to create a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base. I knew I wanted to use some of the newest patterned paper that came out in the most recent release. I cut down one of the yellow pieces of cardstock from the patterned paper set to 4.25 x 5.5 inches to act as the background. Then I used the Scalloped Imperial Frame die set and cut it twice – once on white cardstock and then once with the patterned paper. I combined the white frame from the first cut with the negative space from the patterned paper cut and glued those down to my card base.

I stamped and cut out all the images from the Farmyard Fun stamp set, and even threw in some images from the Udderly Fabulous stamp and die set as well!

I colored them with copic markers and then assembled my scene on a work mat. Once I was satisfied with how the images were arranged, I picked up the scene with a piece of press n’ seal (this is a trick I learned from my pal, Laurie Willison), and applied liquid glue over the back of all of my images. While the glue was wet, I took that piece of press n’ seal over to my card base and laid it down, pressing the glued images down onto the card base. After the glue was dry, I lifted the piece of press n’ seal and all my images had stayed down on the card in the same way I’d arranged them!

Once the scene was complete, I stamped a sentiment from the Barnyard Fun set and glued it on to a scrap of the yellow patterned paper. I adhered that finished sentiment piece down to the card base to finish off the card.

Although this sentiment is not overtly birthday-themed, I love that the sentiment phrases are general enough to function for multiple occasions!

Thanks so much for joining me today, and happy crafting!

Kelly
