Purrfect-ly Delightful Interactive Card

Hello friends! It’s Megan here and I am on the blog today to share with you another interactive card. I used the precious Purrfect Day Stamp Set to create a fun slider design. I love the images from this set and it has several accessory images to keep the little kitties occupied.

I began by die cutting the largest rectangle from the Imperial Stitched Rectangles Dies from a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock. I then masked the edges off using Memo Tape to preserve a white border around the scene and to separate the floor from the wall area on the background. Using a blending brush, I blended on Distress Oxide Inks. I used Milled Lavender, Shaded Lilac, Blue Print Sketch, and Chipped Sapphire from the bottom to the top for a pretty gradient transition. For the floor, I used Antique Linen and Vintage Photo. I flicked on diluted Vintage Photo and a gold watercolor paint onto the floor section using a small paintbrush.

For the slider mechanism, I used a die set from My Favorite Things called the Double Slider Loop Slots Die-namics. (They have a great video on YouTube showing how to use this die set that I will link here. For the slider loop, I like to use freezer Ziploc bags cut down into 1/2″ strips.) I attached a strip of acetate to the front of the loop and then the cat image to the front of the acetate strip. As you pull the pull tab downward, the cat’s face pops into the opening of the enclosed bed area. How cute!

I adhered the back panel to the card base using foam tape and then attached the front panel to the back panel using foam tape. (This allows for plenty of room for the interactive mechanism to move.) I attached all of the images using a combination of glue dots, liquid adhesive, and foam tape. To add more interest to the background, I scattered tiny iridescent stars across the main panel using Ranger Multi Medium Matte and an embellishment wand.

Thank you so much for spending time with me today! I hope that you enjoyed seeing my card and that you come back to see more projects from the design team soon. Have a great day!

Megan
