Perfect Combos – My significant otter

Hello Everyone,

It is Zsofi here, welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series. For this cheerful love card I chose to feature the newly released Otter side stamp set paired with some old and new stencils. Let’s dive in the details!

First I stamped the otters with Lawn Fawn Crunchy Leaf ink which is alcohol marker friendly. Then I used my brown Copics to bring these cuties alive. I love how soft it looks with the brown outline! I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out. Almost all otters have a cut-line around their paws, so it is so easy to tuck something in there!

For the background I masked off the upper third of an A2 sized white cardstock with Heffy Doodle Memo tape and used a blending brush to add Salty Ocean and Blueprint sketch Distress Oxide inks in a light layer. Then I laid the new Wave to me stencil over it and went back with the same colours just with heavier hands. Before removing the stencil I sprayed it with a shimmer spritz for a subtle sparkle.

I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die and stamped the sentiments in black and in Honey Drizzle ink (Altenew).

To place the otters I had to cut little waves in my background, I love that the coordinating die set has the perfect sized one! I also die cut somehearts from red cardstock with the Whole lotta hearts set and added them to the paws of the otters.

I matted the scene with a white postage stamp die cut and adhered it to a kraft top folding card base. As a finishing touch I added glossy accents to the noses and the hearts. I did not want to over-embellish the scene, but had to add a couple of glossy accent dots to the water itself for more texture.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Perfect Combo and will check back later for more inspiration. If you like my cards, please make sure to follow me on Instagram where I share my happy creations! Thank you!

See you soon,

Zsofi
