Hello everyone, this is Gemma from mygirllollipop.com. I am thrilled to be guest designing on the Heffy Doodle blog today.
My card features the fun You’re Weird stamp set, along with the Futuristic Skyline stencil and the Celebrate word die.
I began with the background. I taped the Futuristic Skyline stencil over a piece of white card and inked the buildings with black soot distress oxide ink. I then repositioned the stencil so I could add colour to the sky portion of the card. I used twisted citron, peacock feathers, blueprint sketch and faded jeans.
As I wanted to add stars to the background, I used the stencil to mask the buildings temporarily. I flicked the background with watered down white acrylic paint and also perfect pearls in pewter to create tiny stars in the sky.
Once the panel was dry, I used the stencil again to add the window details to the buildings. I inked over the stencil with clear embossing ink, then heat embossed it with WOW Midas Touch embossing glitter. This silver sparkle really adds to the futuristic look.
Next, I stamped lots of images from the You’re Weird stamp set, coloured them with copic markers, then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. These little aliens are really fun to colour so I like to colour lots whilst watching Netflix in the evening, then I have plenty on hand for future cards.
Returning to the background, I cut down the panel with a Metric Stitched Rectangle, then adhered to my A6 Card base, shifting it to the right side for a different look.
I die cut the Celebrate word die – twice from white card and once from black card, then layered them together so the black die cut word was slightly offset. I adhered this vertically to my card with liquid glue, then added my alien and spaceship to the card with foam tape.
For a finishing touch, I used some Pretty Pink Posh Silver jewels for the lights on the spaceship.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
Have a fabulous day,
