New Year Thank You Cards!

Hey Heffy Doodlers, It’s Jasmin from Jasmin Crafty Makes here. Happy New Year!! I’m not quite ready to put away the Christmas crafts yet and what better way to utilize your stash more than to celebrate and give thanks to those who gifted us things over the holiday season. Whether that be gifts or just kindness maybe you would like to say thank you to someone special in your life.

So let’s jump straight into our background. I started by die cutting the Winter Forest Backdrop from White Cardstock. Ink up the panel with 2 tones of blue/teal colors for a ‘cool’ feel as let’s face it January tends to be cold, well it is for us in the UK anyway! I’m using Catherine Pooler Cumberland and All That Jazz.

Add some extra texture to your background with splatters. This is always a fun easy way to add that little extra something to your design. You can do this in many ways, for todays card I have taken a metallic gilding polish, place a small amount onto the surface such as an acrylic plate or a media mat like I am using. Take a small paintbrush and water, keep adding small amounts of water to the polish until you have a runny consistency, you can now splatter this over your background.

As the background dries move onto the images for your card. Stamp images on Alcohol Marker Friendly Cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I’ve used a mix and match of stamp sets Trim the Tree, Cozy Kitties, and Fireside Dreams. Color these in your favorite medium, I’m using Copic Markers. I’ve used the Coordinating dies for each set running them through my Mini Die Cutting Machine.

Last but not least to finish up the card I’ve die cut the word Thanks from the Slimline Scalloped Peekaboo Dies set using Simply Tealicious Cardstock heat embossed with WOW Totally Teal Embossing Glitter.

Adhere your images to your card with adhesive glue and mount the word die onto foam tape to help it pop off the page. Adhere the panel to a card base measured 11″ x 4.25″ scored at 5.5″.

I hope you are inspired to sit down and continue to create with your Christmas supplies in a different way!

Until next time, happy crafting!
