Meow – Happy Purrthday Card
Hi crafty friends! Welcome to another Color Me Happy Wednesday with Claudia (@mrsclocards). Today I will share this birthday card that features the Simple Sunburst stencil, images from the Mewniverse and Popping By stamp sets and sentiments from the Purrfect Day stamp set.
I started with the background: I prepared the Wendy Vecchi Make Art STAY-tion, took a piece of Heffy Doodle White Cardstock and the Simple Sunburst stencil and I put everything in place using the STAY-tion magnets. After that, I ink blended over the stencil using Distress Oxide in Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet. The Simple Sunburst stencil comes with the inner circle mask, however I didn’t bother using it as the center will be covered with the images. Once I was happy with the result, I added splatters using Gansai Tambi gold watercolor and trimmed the piece down into a square.
I stamped the cat from the Mewniverse stamp set and the icing/candle from Popping By stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink over Alcohol Marker Friendly Cardstock and I colored them with Copic markers, then I fussy cut the images. I glued the cake piece over the cat and added some Glossy Accent over the icing part.
I also stamped the box from the Popping By set using Distress Oxide Antique Linen and I colored it with R20s Copic markers using the No-Line Coloring technique. I used the Popping By coordinating die to cut out the box, then I fussy cut the outer part to have it match the cat.
For the sentiments I stamped the “Meow” from the Purrfect Day stamp set using Versafine Onyx Black ink and die cut it using the coordinating dies (the Heffy Doodle Mini Die Cutting Machine is perfect for small dies!). I also stamped the Purrfect Day “Happy Puurthday” sentiment over Heffy Doodle Black Cardstock using Versamark ink and I heat embossed it in white.
I glued the background over a kraft cardstock base and I put the cat in the box, then I used a mini action wabble to place it over the card center and I added the sentiment using foam tape.
I hope I could inspire you with this card and see you soon!
