Lollipop Christmas Cards

Hello, Tallie here again with you today. I hope you’re all getting into the festive spirit! I’m a big fan of repurposing as many of my craft supplies as possible, so today’s set of festive cards is all about creating Christmas characters from the Sweet Tooth Shaker dies! Featuring Mr Frosty, his Christmas Pud and the ever festive candy cane!

Firstly, I started out by creating some bright backgrounds. I used three Heffy Stencils: Lots of Happy, Aint So Plaid and Notre Dame. I firstly laid down a light layer of Distress Ink – In Candied Apple, Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn, before coming in with the stencil. This tone-on-tone look is simple but so effective! Of course, a little white paint splatter helps to add the impression of snow flurries.

Next up, was die cutting all the pieces for the lollipops. I actually cut a load from some white cardstock and mixed and matched until I came up with these three Christmas pops. I used a couple of other Heffy die sets for the accessories: Forest Builder dies for the arms and carrot nose and a leaf die from the coordinating Nuts About You dies for the holly leaves. Once I decided on a set, I either die cut them from Heffy Coloured Cardstock or inked the smaller pieces up with Distress Ink. A piece of twine from my stash finished off Mr Frosty!

I made a bunch of them, adhering them to the backgrounds. I used some foam tape to pop up the middle Mr Frosty to give a little dimension. Which design do you like best? I’m leaning towards the simple blue one, though I’d be happy to get any of them!

To finish the cards off, I used the Heffy Christmas word die and the ‘MERRY’ from Elfish Antics to create festive sentiments.

Once you get going, these are really simple to mass produce. I should know – they’re my Christmas card design for this year!
