Let’s Shellabrate!

Hello, Tallie here! I have a watercoloured underwater scene card featuring the Oceans of Love stamp set for you today. Imagine walking through one of those tunnels in the aquarium and all the fish are swimming around you – that was what I was aiming for!

I started out by stamping all the ocean creatures from the Oceans of Love set onto some watercolour cardstock cut slightly bigger than A6 size. I used my Mini MISTI so that I could line up the stamps and fill the whole panel.

I used a light watercolour wash over the background, adding some small circular bubbles in layers as they dried to add some movement.

For the creatures, I tried to use the rule of threes with the colours so that the card was somewhat balanced. Building up the layers helped to give the creatures some dimension.

I cut the coloured panel down to just under A6 size and mounted it to a Teal A6 size top folding card base. I stamped the sentiment from the set onto a strip of watercolour cardstock and foam mounted it across the bottom of the panel. A few drops of Glossy Accents on the background added some more interest.

This was a fun card for me as I challenged myself to bring out the watercolours. It’s too easy just to reach for the Copics, so it’s good to stretch yourself every now and then!

Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
