Jungle Scene with Laura
Hi everyone! It’s Laura here and today I am back to share with you a super fun card that I created with the Chimply the Best stamp set! I adore these cute monkeys and I had a blast mixing different Heffy Doodle by to create this jungle scene!
Let’s have a look at how I made it!
I started by creating the background. I die cut some watercolor cardstock and ink blended it with Distress Oxides. I used Cracked Pistachio, Lucky Clover, Pine Needles and Black Soot. I also added some droplets with the same colors of Distress Oxides to create some extra interest.
Next, I used the Unbeliefable stencil and Glitter Glass Bead Gel to create a fun leafy pattern with lots of sparkle. I set it aside to dry and worked on the other elements on the card.
I used the Silver Linings Cloud Border Dies to cut some more watercolor cardstock and I used them as if they were part of a tree, rather than clouds. I blended them with Twisted Citron, Lucky Clover and Black Soot. I again added interest to the border with some droplets.
The leaves were die cut with the Amazonian Leaves dies and ink blended with the same Distress Oxide Inks used so far.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, the images I used today are part of the Chimply the Best stamp set. I stamped them on Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock and I colored them with Illustrator markers by Spectrum Noir. Here is a list of the markers I used
Chimps: TN8, TN5, TN3, FS5, FS8, FS9
Bananas: GY5, GY3, GY1
Vine: AG3, AG1, CT1
Once I was done coloring, I die cut them with the coordinating dies.
For my sentiment, I die cut some black cardstock using the Stitched Strips of Ease stamp set and I did some heat embossing with white embossing powder.
I glued everything to the card background, trying to create lots of layering to add depth to the scene. I just love those two chimps peeking out of the leaves!
And that’s it for today! I really hope you enjoyed today’s tutorial and found it useful! Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day!
