It’s Your Day Alien Birthday Card

Hello, it’s Kari with a new card and video to share: It’s Your Day Alien Birthday card. I’m sharing this cute card and a trick for making your sentiment shiny with embossing powder! Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

I love this “You’re Weird” stamp set, with the cute little aliens! It pairs perfectly with the “It’s Your Day” sentiment and background die.

I started by stenciling two backgrounds: one with the Candy Swirl stencil and one with the Highlander stencil. Then I cut the It’s Your Day sentiment out of the plaid panel. I used embossing powder to make the sentiment shiny! (see my video for a trick to do this easily)!

To color up these cutie characters, I used the Alcohol Friendly cardstock from Heffy Doodle. I love how the markers blend on this cardstock. Then I cut them out with the coordinating dies using the Heffy Doodle Mini Die Cutting machine.

I arranged the aliens around the die cut sentiment onto the candy stripe panel. Then I used the remainder of the plaid panel as a mat for the card. I like the variety of these stencils for this “weird” birthday card!
