It’s Time to Shellabrate!

Good morning Jess here!  Before I get started, have you hopped along to celebrate Heffy Doodle’s Birthday yet?!?  If not, go now and then come back! 😉 I’ll wait!  I’m continuing the party today with a fun celebration card featuring the Stitched Bubble Background die and our, not-yet released but free with a £30 purchase incentive set, Shellabrate!  And if you spend £45 you’ll get the dies, too!

To start I stamped the turtle onto white cardstock and colored him with copic markers before die-cutting him with the coordinating die.  I added a few accents with a white gel pen and a little spectrum noir clear sparkle to his shell.  I also stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock, heat-embossed it with white embossing powder, and used Strips of Ease to die-cut it into labels.

To create my ocean background I started by die-cutting a piece of watercolor paper with the Stitched Bubble Background Die.  Then I smooshed mermaid lagoon and peacock feathers distress ink onto a piece of acetate in a random pattern.  I spritzed it liberally with water and used my finger to soften the edges.  Then I turned the acetate over and pressed it over the watercolor paper.  I held it in place for about 30 seconds and then lifted the acetate.  I blotted off the excess ink with a paper towel and dried it with a heat gun.  Once it was totally dry I spritzed it with water to lighten areas and create “bubbles” in the water.  I adhered my turtle and sentiment and then finished the card by adding nuvo crystal glaze to each of the stitched bubbles on the card panel!

Shellabrate will eventually be available in the shop but I think you should just go do a little shopping from the fabulous new release and before you know it, it’ll be headed to your home! 😉  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Great background. I like how the turtle and sentiment jumps up from the background as it is black. TFS
