How to Create a Twilight Scene

Helloooo, my Heffy Doodler friends! I hope you’re all having an EXCELLENT Monday! (I know I am! I get to be here with you!!). If you’re not already following me on Instagram, please feel free to come check out my feed and get some more inspo!!

Today, I am sharing how to make this twilight scene that is bright and cheery – even though I’m using twilight colors! First, I’m going to grab some pink and purple sky colors. I am going to mix and match inks from different companies. I know that might seem a little scary – but have no fear! Any inks that are dye based will still blend together beautifully! So, I’m grabbing Catherine Pooler’s Flirty Fuchsia and Maker Forte’s Pitstop Pink. I’m blending the colors together with a blending brush, and then spritzing with some water from a spray bottle.

For my grass, I’m using the Grassy Lass Border Dies and for my tree, I’m using the Tree-mendous Peekaboo Tree Dies. For my grass and tree, I’ve blended Catherine Pooler’s Melon Ice and Grass Skirt inks. By using the super bright Melon Ice ink, I can brighten the whole scene so it doesn’t seem too dark. For my tree trunk, I’ve blended Sand Castle and Icing on the Cake inks. I’ve also run my tree trunk through my die cutting machine with the Woodgrain Texture Background Die.

Now, I’m ready to stamp my images from the Nuts About You and Quill You Be Mine stamp sets. I’ve colored them with Copic markers so they’re ready to be die cut!

I’m die cutting the tiny images with my super-handy (and SUPER-cute) Mini Die Cutting Machine.

The last step is to assemble my card! I’m using 3D foam squares and Glubert Glue to adhere everything to my card front! My final step is to add my sentiment from the Bold Banner Sentiments set.

Well, that’s it for me today friends! I hope you’ve enjoyed this post! Til next time!! Xx, Amanda
