Have A Magical Day!

Hey Friends!

It’s Kelly Martin here, and I’m excited to be on the blog today sharing this super whimsical and fun card today!

My family and I just recently spent a week at Walt Disney World, and it’s my favorite place ever! I was definitely inspired by our trip when I was creating this card, since Disney World is all about magical and colorful things!

I used several products when I created this card, but it was still relatively simple because it just invlolved stamping, die-cutting, coloring, and gluing!

I cut and scored a standard slimline card base (3.5 inches by 8.5 inches). I began by using the Silly Slimline Slants die and cut out a white panel and adhered it down to the card base. I used Distress Oxide inks to color all the negative pieces and then glued those into their spaces on the card base.

After the card base was assembled, I stamped and die cut several images from the Fluffy Puffy Unicorns stamp set and the Happily Ever Crafter stamp sets. After coloring them with my copic markers, I arranged them all over the card so that I could make this magical scene!

Usually when I make a scene on a slimline card, I try to pay attention to the weight of the scene. In other words, I try to make sure that there are the same number of elements on the top half as on the bottom half. I arranged the images so that I could leave enough room for a sentiment, which would also add “weight” to the scene.

I used foam tape to mount my images on to the card base so that they would “pop” off the card. I attempted to color my images in the same color scheme as the card base, and so I knew I needed to make the images have some dimension so they wouldn’t disappear into the background of the card.

For some simple, but VERY effective finishing touches, I added some Nuvo glitter accents in Fresh Snowfall around the clouds on my rainbows. I also added some Nuvo crystal glaze on to parts of the carriage to give shine and dimension.

After stamping and diecutting the sentiment elements, I also adhered those to the card base to finish everything off.

Thanks so much for stopping by and joining me today, and I hope the rest of your day is magical!

Kelly
