Happy Purrthday Shaker Card

Hello there! Welcome to the first Color Me Happy Wednesday for 2023! I’m Claudia (@mrsclocards) and today I wanna share the card I made for my daughter’s 6th birthday. She’s a huge cat lover so I used the Purrfect Day stamps and dies set, the Perfect Blend stamps and dies and the Scalloped Imperial Stitched Frames to create this birthday shaker card inspired by the Pink Fizz Sparkle Mix.

I stamped the images from the Purrfect Day stamps (cat), the Perfect Blend stamps (mug-I draw the ribbon before coloring), the Yappy Happy Mail stamps (letter), the Sealy Friends stamps (party hat) and the Quill You Be Mine stamps (bow) using Memento Rich Cocoa ink on a piece of Heffy Doodle Alcohol Marker Friendly Cardstock. For the coloring I used Copic Markers in the following colors:

CAT: E50, R20
MUG, HAT and CARD: RV91, RV93, RV95, RV99 – R81, R83, R85
BISCUITS: E31, E33, E35

I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out and I added details with a white and a gold gel pen. I fussy cut the little bow and glued it over the wintery themed mug, then I used a cutter to cut the border of the mug, for having a space where I could insert the cat.

After finishing with the images, I made a quick background by ink blending a small piece of Heffy Doodle white cardstock with Distress Oxide Spun Sugar and I added splatters of gold watercolor. When it had dried, I used one of the Imperial Stitched Rectangles dies to cut it out.

On another piece of white cardstock, I ink blended Seedless Preserved and Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide to create a dark pink color and I cut it out with the second biggest Scalloped Imperial Stitched Frames die. I trimmed a small piece of acetate, I used double sided adhesive to attach it to the back of the frame and added Heffy Doodle deep foam tape. I filled it with some sequins from the Pink Fizz Sparkle Mix and some gold stars I had in my stash, then I attached the background and closed the shaker part.

I colored a small strip of cardstock with Copic RV99 and I stamped the sentiment from the Purrfect Day stamp set using Versamark ink, then I heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
I created the bow using the die from the Slimline Mini Mail dies on kraft cardstock and I added faux stitches with a white gel pen. Finally, I used foam tape to attach everything in place and that’s it!

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!
Claudia
