Happy Purrthday Card

Hi there! Claudia @mrsclocards here with my first post for 2022! My daughter turned 5 a few days ago and I made her this card with the two things she loves most: cats and rainbows (like mother, like daughter LOL).

For a project like this you’ll need to stamp several times so a stamping platform is highly recommended: I have the original Misti but any other would be fine as well. I took a sheet of Heffy Doodle alcohol marker friendly cardstock and I started filling it with the cute kittens from the Purrfect Day stamp set using Memento Rich Cocoa ink. Once I was happy with the result, I die cut the panel using the second largest rectangle from the Imperial Stitched Rectangles dies.

I added a few more cats near the edges, where I thought it was too blank, and I started to color using Copic markers. I wanted the bright colors to be the focal point on this card so I didn’t spend much time on blending-my daughter wouldn’t notice it anyway 😀 Once I was done, I added the highlights with a white gel pen and I also added some gold details here and there.

I heat embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder and I trimmed it down to the right size.
I die cut a piece of kraft cardstock with the biggest Scalloped Imperial Frames die to use as the background and I used foam tape to put everything together.

I also made an envelope using the Envelope Punch Board and I die cut her name using the Stitched Alphabetters dies on rainbow cardstock.
