Elephant of Surprise

Hello Heffydoodlers!

Ali here and thanks for visiting the Heffydoodle Blog to check out my Elephant of Surprise! When I got my hands on the new Lawn Fawn Pivot Pop-Up die – I just knew the Elephant of Surprise Set from Heffy Doodle Stamps was going to be the perfect match! The “surprise” sentiments are perfect for the surprise the recipient gets when they open this card!

Here is my card in action!!

I Started the front of the card by cutting a stitched rectangle from the plaid paper and adding some dotted clouds. I also added some lawn, die cut from green paper. I stamped the elephants, 6 balloons, the flag, 3 butterflies, the cake and the present  (from the Elfish Antics Set). I coloured them with copics, die cut them and attached some to the front of the card as shown. I stamped the ‘sorry’ on the flag and the other sentiments on black card and white embossed them, trimmed to size and attached.

I lined the inside of the card with pink cardstock and assembled the pivot mechanism inside the card.  I used the same paper on the pop-out piece and adhered the other elephants, cake, present and balloons. I also die-cut some more grass for the elephants to stand-on.

I then adhered the other balloons and butterflies to the card and stamped the sentiment in versafine ink on white card, trimmed and attached.

I added some detail to the elephant with a white gel pen.  Those elephants are such a cute little surprise when the card is opened!!  You could also include some confetti, carefully sprinked inside the card when it is nearly closed so that it falls out when the card is opened! So much fun!

Thanks for joining me again!
