Eat, drink and be scarry!

Hi there! I’m Mirjam. Thanks for checking out the Heffy Doodle Blog. It’s October, so I made a fun and spooky Halloween card!
Today, I’ll show you how I put it together and the materials I used.

For the background, I made a spooky mummy look by sticking white strips onto a black card.
I cut white strips with my Heffy Doodle Mini Paper Trimmer. I playfully attached these white strips to my black Cardstock background, for the mummy effect. How easy and fun is this?

To frame the whole card, I die-cut the Heffy Doodle Stitched Birthday Trio Die from purple Cardstock and then cut out the inside. For some more color, I blended the frame with two shades of purple distress ink, creating a nice color blend.

For my critters, I used the incredibly cute Halloween set ‘Costume Critters,’ along with its Matching Dies. After bringing them to life with my Copic markers, I cut them out with the Heffy Doodle Mini Die-Cutting Machine.

As for the text, I chose the new speech bubble die from the set; ‘Look Who’s Talking Dies.‘ I die-cut it from the same color Cardstock as the frame and added an extra pop of color with purple Distress ink.
The text was stamped using Embossing Ink and white Embossing Powder.

As a final step, I attached all the separate parts of my card and added some height here and there using Heffy Doodle Foam Tape.

I hope you like it and get some ideas for your own cards! Have a super fun and spooky Halloween month!

See you next time,

X Mirjam
