December Birthday Bear

Hi Heffydoodlers!  Ali Joining you today with a card dedicated to those of you with December birthdays! Just to let you know that in all the hustle & bustle that surrounds this time of year – you are not forgotten! I’ve used the cute little bear from the Unbearable Without You (HDS, SSS, ATC) stamp set and the igloo and accessories from the Warm Hugs Set (HDS, SSS, ATC) to create this slider card.  The slider element stands up to make the polar bear go fishing! So cool!!

I started this card with two base-pieces that would fit on a card-front.  I stamped the Snowfall Background stamp from My Favorite Things (MFT, SSS) on both, in versamark ink and white embossed. I then used the emboss resist technique and lightly blended some Tumbled Glass Distress ink over the top.  I used my PaperTrey Ink slider die (PTI) to but the slider element from one of these pieces. I also cut, from white card, some Stitched Clouds (SSS, MFT) and a bottom piece with the curved Stitched Basic Edges 2 die (SSS, MFT).

I sponged some white card with Tumbled glass and Salty Ocean distress inks – enough for the ‘ocean’ under the slider, the sentiment strip and and a small circle. I splattered a piece with water to resemble water/ocean and attached this under the slider mechanism. I punched a small circle and stamped with the ‘pull here’ from Interactively Yours (HDS, SSS, ATC).  I used the ‘hope you have a’ and ‘BIRTHDAY’ sentiments from the Happy Snappy Crocs Stamp Set (HDS, SSS, ATC) and the ‘COOL’ from the Warm Hugs Set, stamped in versamark and white embosed.  I stamped the bear from Unbearable Without You, the igloo, fishing pole, hook and fish from Warm Hugs in black Memento Ink. I die cut all of these and coloured lightly with cool grey Copics. I coloured the fishing rod with brown copics and attached some thread and the hook.

I attached my slider element to the base-piece and adhered the fish in the water. I adhered the clouds, white strip, sentiment strip, igloo, bear, fishing pole and circle to the base-piece and then adhered all of that to the card. Cute and fun as well!

Hope you enjoyed this card and if you have a December Birthday hope its fantastic!!

Ali xx
