Custom Sentiments with Alphabet Stamps/Dies: Part 2 – Happy Daddy’s Day!

Hello, Tallie here with you again today with the second in June’s mini CAS card series. The cards in this mini series will give you some inspiration for using some alphabet stamps/dies tocreate custom sentiments. Today, I am combining the Rascal Alphabetters stamps and coordinating dies with the Classic Sentiments/More Classic Sentiments and Happily Ever Crafter stamp sets to create this custom father’s day card.

I started out with the background, layering the Circle Masquerade stencil under the Slants vs Rhombies stencil. I first blended on a layer of Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink with a brush before adding a gradient with Candied Apple and then stencilling over with Aged Mahogony. If anything, it reminded me just how much Candied Apple gets EVERYWHERE! My hands, my face, my nails, my skirt, the desk, the sink …

The next step was to stamp out and colour in my representative Daddy from the Happily Ever Crafter stamp set. I coloured him in to look like my Dad and gave him a red bow tie to match the inking.

For the sentiments, I die cut the D-A-D-D-Y-‘-S from the Rascal Alphabetters stamps from some red cardstock and added on some shading with the same Distress Inks. I then stamped the letters in some Versafine Clair ink to finish off the letters.

The final step before assembly was to create the banners to complete the custom sentiment. I used the smallest banner die from the Tag Along Dies to cut some white banners and stamp on the sentiments. I used several of the sentiments to create my own sentiment, partially inking them up to get what I needed.

Assembly was just a matter of adhering it to the background. I found a T-ruler helpful in making sure it was all aligned!

Thanks for reading and happy crafting!
