Creative Color Combos – Rawr-some

Hello everyone! It’s Ashley with a new color palette and card in my Creative Color Combos series! I am so in love with the colors for this one!

Aren’t those colors gorgeous?! Here is the card I came up with using them:

These dinos are some of my favorite Heffy Doodle images ever! I wanted to make it look like you were peeking in through the leaves at the dinosaurs. I think the leaves turned out a bit more yellow and green than the butterscotch and emerald I was going for though. I guess I’ll just have to use this palette again in the future! 🙂

I started by stamping the dinosaurs from Dino Time and Dinky Dinos and the vines from Chimply the Best in Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. I colored with Copics and added a few white gel pen highlights before cutting them out. I also grabbed the Hello Heffy Cuts and die cut it from white cardstock and white foam, gluing the two together before setting the word aside to dry.

I lightly blended Lawn Fawn Minty Fresh ink on white cardstock before securing the Rays the Roof stencil on top with Heffy Memo Tape. I blended more Minty Fresh ink on top of the stencil, then added some Simon Says Stamp Teal ink to the outside edges. I removed the stencil and splattered the whole thing with gold acrylic paint before die cutting it with one of the Imperial Stitched Rectangle dies. I adhered the piece to a card base made from Holy Mackerel cardstock (I love that name!).  I blended some Lawn Fawn Narwhal ink and Pumice Stone Distress ink onto another piece of white cardstock, splattered it with gold, and die cut it using one of the Stitched Slopey Joes dies for the ground.

I added my dinosaurs and vines to the card, saving the pteranodon for later. I stamped the sentiment from Dino Time in VersaMark ink and embossed with white before adding the “hello”. For the leaves, I blended Distress Oxides in Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, and Fossilized Amber along with a bit of Pumice Stone Distress ink in a random pattern on white cardstock. I splattered the piece with gold paint, then cut several leaves out using the Amazonian Leaves dies. I layered the leaves around the top half of the card, popping a few up with foam tape for dimension. I finished by adding the pteranodon to the corner with foam tape.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a rawr-some day!

Hello. The lady from whom I used to buy my dies retired and closed her store. I would like to buy them from a store in Canada to avoid the currency enchange.
