Creative Color Combos – Hot Diggity Dog

Hello friends! It’s Ashley with a new Creative Color Combo featuring the new release! As the owner of two large mutts, I have been waiting for a big dog stamp set forever, so I was thrilled when the new release had two! Instead of finding a color palette online, I turned to my stash for inspiration and found a pretty plaid paper perfect for the job.

That doggy in the mud is just the cutest and reminds me of my lab/shepherd mix. This is exactly the type of trouble she’d get into if we let her! Perpetual puppy, that one.

I started by using the new Green Fields stencil on white cardstock with Distress Oxides in Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. I added a few fluffy clouds with the Cloudy Skies stencil and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide, then die cut the piece with one of the Imperial Stitched Rectangles. I adhered it to a piece of Simply Teal-icious cardstock and trimmed to leave a skinny border. I used my color inspiration, the plaid paper, as my card base.

I stamped my images from Hot Diggity Dog and Who Let the Dogs Out in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. Of course, I colored the dog to look like my stinker pupper. I decided to keep this scene more realistic so I used neutrals liberally and added the inspiration palette colors throughout. I cut my images with the matching dies and added them to the card, popping the dog up with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment at the top in Tuxedo Black.

This card can be used for several occasions just by adding a Classic Sentiment or More Classic Sentiment to the inside!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
