Creating a Halloween Night Scene

Hey friends! I am just loving all the goodies from the new Halloween Release, aren’t you?! For this Halloween scene, I’ve used a combination of the Costume Critters and Let’s Hang Out from the New Release. I’ve also thrown in a classic stamp set: Veggie Patch!

Are you ready to make this background with me!? It’s much simpler than it looks! Grab your Heffy Memo tape and a circle die. Cut your circle with the Memo Tape and place it in the upper left hand corner of your white cardstock (or wherever you want your moon!). Then, get blending!! I’ve started with Maker Forte’s Neon Lights closest to the moon. Then, I blended Acid Wash, Vegas Strip and Coronation Purple.

Wait! Don’t remove your Memo tape yet! Instead grab a spray bottle filled with water and give your background a quick spritz. Now, grab a paintbrush and your white acrylic paint (or white re-inker, watercolors, or anything that you can dip your paintbrush into.). Flick your white all over the background. Do the same thing with a very dark blue/purple or black. Now, you can remove your Memo tape!

Next, I’m going to get coloring! I’ve stamped my images and am coloring them with OLO markers. Then, I can die cut them with their coordinating dies.

For my grass, I’m using a piece of white cardstock that I ink blended gray and black. I then cut it with one of the Grassy Lass Border Dies. I also spritzed it with water and added white flecks.

For my sentiment, I stamped directly onto my (dried) background with black ink.

The last step is to assemble the card! I’ve used 3D foam squares to adhere all images to the card!

That’s all I have for today, friends! Thank you so much for stopping by the Heffy Doodle Blog today!

Xx, Amanda
