Crafty Hugs
Hello Heffy Doodlers! Welcome, thanks for stopping by the blog! Ali here with a card that will hopefully make you smile! To me, it seems like life has gone a little bananas lately…. anyone feeling the same? This is a card you can send to your crafty friends to give them a lift! I’ve used the Amazonian Leaves Dies (these are some of my favorite dies for jungle/animal/leafy themed cards), and the oh-so-cute Chimply The Best Stamps and Dies. I’ve used the Metric Stitched Rectangles and Stitched Squares Dies to create a stitched photo-frame, read on to find out how…..
To make the polaroid photo frame, I used one of the metric stitched rectangles dies and a stitched square die that was a suitable size. I placed the square die inside the rectangle die positioned towards the top of the rectangle die. I ran this through my die cutting machine as shown below.
I then used a larger rectangle die to trim some from the bottom as shown below:
To make the leaves, I used Distress Oxide Inks Twisted Citron, Cracked Pepper and Mowed Lawn brushed on a piece of white card and splattered with water droplets. I then die-cut the leaves from this piece. I also die-cut the ‘crafty’ word die from this piece.
I created a sky background for the frame with the Cloudy Skies stencil (another favorite). and adhere it to the back of the frame along with the leaves as shown. I stamped and colored the monkeys with Copics and die-cut them, attaching them to the inside of the frame.
I stamped the sentiments (the ‘life is’ is from the Unbearable Without You set) on black cardstock with versmark ink and white embossed them. The Sending Hugs were from the Yappy Happy Mail set. I attached the photo frame with 3D foam onto the front of a white cardbase. I trimmed all the sentiments and adhered to the front of the card as shown.
Hope this card gave you a smile today!
