Congratulations and BE PROUD of it!
Hello everyone!
Today I am sharing a card I made for a friend who has won an award for their contribution to LGBTQ+ rights within our local area. I wanted to make him a handmade card to congratulate him but thought it would be fun to add a little touch of rainbow colours too!
The silly slimline slants die set was the perfect die for creating a quick card. I paired this up with my blending brushes and ink collection so I could easily add some fun colour. Although of course, you could also use up any scraps in your coloured cardstock collection!
For added interest, I thought it would be fun to create a shaker card. This is because John is a drama teacher, and often hosts dance classes – so he knows how to shake it, shake it! I used some 3mm Deep Foam Tape and also some acetate to create this shaker element. I used some sequins I had on hand, but if I were making this again, I would most definitely use the PRIDE sparkle mix.
Can you see that sparkly background? Thats because I covered the coloured areas with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Marker. We like to be a little EXTRA around here! teehee
I finished the card with the word CONGRATULATIONS die cut using our ever popular Stitched Alphabetters dies. The black colour really pops against the white and the colours. All I needed to do then was add some critters – and of course I chose some geographically appropriate ones – using the Highland Honeys stamp set. Although you could add any critter I think. Let’s not forget a little scottie hat and a thistle to be authentic, isn’t that right lil heilan coo? 🙂
Thanks for popping by, have a great day!
