Clean and Simple Birthday Cards

Hey Friends!

Thanks so much for joining me here on the Heffy Doodle Blog today. My name is Kelly Martin and I am excited to share these projects with you!

I am always needing to beef up my birthday card  stash, so I sat down with a VERY basic group of supplies and set out to add a couple to the stash!

I grabbed my Candy Store Stencil and my Dotty Lottie stencil along with my Distress Oxide inks and went to work!

I stamped some images from the Big Bug Hugs stamp set and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. After I colored them with copic markers, I set them aside to create the background.

I cut and score and 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base from light blue colored cardstock. I then ink-blended some Broken China ink through the Candy Store stencil to create the card base. I cut down two strips of light pink cardstock and glued them down to the left-hand side of the card.

I used the Imperial Stitched Rectangle Dies to create that white panel, and then stamped a sentiment on the bottom.

Mounting the colored images with foam tape, I adhered them down to the white panel and then glued that completed mini-scene down on to the card base to finish things off!

For my next card, I followed the exact same process! I used the Dotty Lottie stencil on a light pink cardbase and used Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink. I also cut down two light blue strips of colored cardstock and glued those down to the left side of the card. I stamped images from the Treay Yo’Self stamp set and used the coordinating dies to cut out the images.

I used the same rectangle die to cut out the white panel, and then used the same foam tape to adhere the images down to the white panel.

For the sentiment, I used the Happy Birthday image from the Pebble Sentiments set and then used the add-on dies to cut it out. I mounted it with foam tape and then adhered it down to the corner of that white panel.

I also mounted the white panel with foam tape before adhering it down to the card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today to check out this cards! I hope it inspires you to add to your birthday card stash, too! Sometimes it’s nice to take a break from complex cardmaking and enjoy the simple techniques and processes as well!

Have a great day!

Kelly
