Chimply the Best

Hello friends! It’s Ashley with a sweet Valentine scene today up in the clouds! I had the idea to make a critter floating away with a pile of heart balloons. By using a small heart die for the balloons, I was also able to try out some of the new Heffy Doodle cardstock colors too! The result is a pretty balloon bunch that makes the perfect Valentine card for anyone!

I started by blending Distress Oxide inks in Worn Lipstick, Tattered Rose, and Squeezed Lemonade onto Heffy Doodle white cardstock. I used the Head in the Clouds stencil and white pigment ink to add some soft clouds in the background, then die cut the whole piece with one of the Imperial Stitched Rectangles before adding it to a white card base.

I used the smallest Stitched Heart die to cut several balloons from different colors of Heffy Doodle cardstock. I ended up using Razzleberry, Banana Split, Butterscotch, Sunny Side Up, Bubblegum Blush, and Wildberry. I also cut some clouds using the Swirly Clouds dies from more Heffy Doodle white cardstock. I added my die cut shapes to the card, popping a few balloons and clouds up with foam tape for dimension.

I stamped the chimp from Chimply the Best onto Alcohol Marker Friendly cardstock and colored with Copics. I cut him out with the matching die, then added him to my card with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment from Chimply the Best in Versafine Onyx Black and heat set. To finish, I used some white and gold twine to make balloon strings.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
