Birthday card with easy stencilled backgrounds

Hey Crafty Friends, It’s Jasmin here from Jasmin Crafty Makes. Welcome to my brand new blog series called Celebration Time. I’m so excited to be joining the Heffy Doodle blog team and I can’t wait to bring you lots of inspiration. I created this birthday card for my Husband recently, which is a perfect excuse for a celebration!

As a Staffie owner ourselves, of course, I just had to use the new image and pair it up with some other new plus older sets to create a fun mini-scene.

Let’s start with our background, die cut from a piece of white card stock with a Whimsically Wonky Frame Die for your front panel. I’ve used the Metric size die for today’s card. Lay on the Trio Masquerade Stencil using the etched markings to help you line it up centrally. Ink up each panel area using 2 ink colors, I’m using Evergreen Bough and Twisted Citron Distress Inks on my card today.

Tip: Use Heffy Doodle Memo Tape to section off each area as you are blending, this will allow you to avoid catching color in the areas you may not want it!

For the next part of our card, we need some images. What better way to celebrate than with some cake and presents! I’ve used the following stamp sets stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on alcohol marker-friendly card stock.

Images have been colored in copics and die cut with the coordinating dies for each set running them through my Heffy Doodle Mini Die Cutting Machine.

Let’s finish up this celebration with a sentiment. Take the sentiment from the Stitched Birthday Trio Frame Dies cut from Kiwi Crush and Blueberry Bliss card stock. Adhere together for a slight shadow using adhesive glue, I’m using the adorable Glubert.

Use adhesive glue for your images and sentiment to place on your ink-blended card panel backing this onto a card base. I’ve also used Kiwi Crush to match the sentiment on the front of our card.

Finish up your card with some Summer Holiday Enamel Dots. I like to add embellishments in odd numbers 3, 5, and so on!

I will be back soon with more celebratory card inspiration!
