Be mine

Hello everyone! I’m Sara and I am super excited to be guest designing for the Heffy Doodle blog. I’m a young girl from Italy, maybe you know me with my IG nickname, @le_cosebelle_di_sara.

As you may imagine, I love cardmaking. I’ve always loved colouring but I didn’t like drawing. When I was studying at University I went to a local fair and I “fell” in the magical world of stamping. I instantly purchased some: that was the beginning of my stamping addiction. Colouring and creating is my way to escape from the daily routine: I love creating scenes and I especially love critters.

For my first card as a guest designer I used the “Quill you be mine?” stamp set: those hedgehogs are super cute. I stamped the two hugging ones at the centre of my piece of paper and I then drew all the background with a pencil. Since I planned to colour with Copics, I used a alcohol friendly ink and paper, in order to achieve a better result. I then coloured all my images choosing a warm and cozy palette.

 

 

I wanted the bottom of my card to be white, so I masked it while colouring. I also coloured another piece of paper with the same tones of the mushroom and I die cut it with the “be mine” die. I did it twice to create more dimension. I glued the die cut sentiment under the scene and I stamped one of the sentiments of the plate with black ink.

 

 

For a finishing touch, I added some white gelly roll details and I matted the whole card with a bigger black cardstock. I really hope you will love my project and I cannot wait to show you the second card too!
