Back to School Special – 2 Cards!

Hey Heffy Doodle friends!!
It’s Back to School time!  My daughter started 1st grade this week!  It’s her first full day of school as well, since we do half day kindergarten here.  I love seeing how excited she gets about school, especially since she had so much time off for the summer.

So, obviously, I had to make some cards using the Teacher’s Pet stamp set!  Also, to be an A+ student, I also made TWO cards!  Extra credit for me, right?!

I just love the versatility of this stamp set!  Plus, all the cute accessories are AMAZING!

To make this first card, I’m stamping all of my images from the Teacher’s Pet stamp set and coloring them with Copic markers.  I am using Memento Tuxedo Black ink because it’s alcohol marker friendly and won’t bleed once I start coloring.

Now that I’m finished coloring, I’m going to run them through my die cutting machine using the Teacher’s Pet Dies.  I hold the dies in place with Purple Tape.

On a piece of A2 cardstock, I’m using Pumice Stone distress oxide and Honey Bee Stamp’s Perfect Brick Stencil.

Using the Stitched Alphabetters die set, I am cutting out the “We Love You” sentiment.  Using Copic markers, I’m going to color each letter.

Now, I’m ready to lay everything out to see how it’s looking!

Once I have my layout ready, I’m ready to start adhering the images to my card base with 3D foam squares!

For my second card, I’m using the same Teacher’s Pet stamp set.

As with my first card, I’m using the Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp my images and then coloring with my Copic markers.

Next, I’m using the Roundabout Sentiment Stamps and the Curved Banner Die to create my sentiment.  I’m also cutting “Teacher” using the Stitched Alphabetters die set and Cherry on Top coloured cardstock.

I used the Ink Blot Shop Get Grounded stamp set for my tile flooring.  For the background, Iused Frayed Burlap distress oxide and Honey Bee Stamp’s Perfect Brick Stencil.

To get the “TEACHER” letters to line up perfect, I am using my Staytion to adhere the letters to my card.  For the stamped images, I am using 3D foam squares to adhere them to the card.  To create my layered card base, I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies.
