Holy Macaroni Box Card
Hey crafty friend, it’s Amanda Stevens back with more inspiration for the GOLDEN OLDIES spring challenge. Inspired by an awesome card from Sylvie @kaliscards, I pulled out my Pasta La Vista set, along with a few others, to create a cheesy birthday card. (Pun intended.)
I stamped most of the images in brown ink to color no-line style, then added faces, arms and legs in black ink. To create the dish, I die cut the lid and rim of a coffee cup. When you turn the lid upside down, and flip the rim in the opposite direction, it’s a perfect pasta plate! A few die cut tropical leaves look like rosemary and basil if you color them accordingly. I’m a big believer in stretching your supplies, so don’t worry if you don’t have the exact same sets. Look through your stash and see if you can find alternatives that might work. Just by changing the angle or color, you can often imitate different objects.
Interactive cards and fun folds are my favorite, so I couldn’t resist adding these cuties to a box card. Four struts across filled up the space nicely and gave me plenty of steps to build the scene. The red gingham pattern paper from my stash has to be 20+ years old by now, so it was perfect for both the tablecloth look, as well as the GOLDEN OLDIES theme for the challenge! Sequins and gems from the Secret Santa Sparkle Mix add lots of shimmer and shine. (Who says it’s just for Christmas cards?)
Here’s a look at the card from several angles (and yes, it folds flat to mail)…
I absolutely love the way this card turned out and I hope I’ve inspired you to pull out some of your GOLDEN OLDIES and enter the challenge! If you’d like to recreate a card like this, here are the supplies you’ll need…
