Zig-a-Zig-ah-Rainbows
Hello, Tallie here again with you today. I’m switching up my blog theme to Clean and Simple, so what better way to start a new CAS series with white space and rainbows? The new Zig-a-zig Ah Chevron Dies are perfect for creating custom backgrounds. Paired with the Congratulations Shadow Heffy Cuts die, this makes a great congratulations card for my neighbour.
After a recent craft stash clean out, I’m trying to make more use of different medias: today’s highlight are my watercolours. They are perfect for getting down lots of colour very quickly without much effort. I used some watercolour paper and applied paint to several strips. I have quite cheap watercolours so I had to add a couple of layers to build up the vibrancy.
The next step was to use the Zig-a-zig Ah Chevron Dies to die cut some strips in rainbow order. I made sure to start and end the red and purple strip with the straighter die to give me a defined edge.
Once cut out, I covered a blank card panel in adhesive and then stuck the rainbow strips down to give them more strength and make it easier to handle.
I adhered the completed panel to a top-folding card base – tip: use a t-ruler to make sure you align the panel on straight!
The sentiment was simple to create using black cardstock for the word and white cardstock for the shadow.
This design would also look great with coloured cardstock, Distress Inks or even alcohol markers. Give it a go!
