Warm Wishes Slider Card

Hello, everyone! And happy Monday! The countdown is on to getting your holiday cards out, and I’m sad to say I haven’t sent mine yet! I’ve been so busy making them, that I haven’t even thought of sending one, which is silly since that’s the whole point of making them. So today I’m making it a priority to make a list of who I’m sending to, and hand selecting the cards for them. It will be a nice way to destress during this busy week.

So, on that note, I’ve got another holiday card to share with you today! Today’s card is a slider card I made using the Lawn Fawn slider dies. I thought the cute little images from Heffy Doodle would pair perfectly, not to mention the amazing Interactively Yours stamp set that is a must have for any interactive card! Here’s a look at the card I came up with.

If you were here for my post last week, you’ll notice I’m still on my polar bear kick that Jessica got me started on! Today’s bear came from the Unbearable Without You stamp set. I stamped him, and the candy cane and cup from Elfish Antics on some Neenah Solar White card stock. I colored each in with my Copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies. Then I die cut out all the pieces from the slider die set.

I stamped the cute little snowflakes (another favorite of mine from Heffy Doodle) from Warm Hugs all over the piece that was going to actally be sliding. For this I used two pieces of vellum adhered together, so that you could somewhat see through, but the bear would still be a little bit of a surprise. I stamped the snowflakes in VersaMark, and heat embossed white embossing powder over top. I also stamped the sentiments from Elfing Christmas Words with VersaMark and heat embossed them with white embossing powder on the frame part of the slider. “Sending you” was stamped on black paper and trimmed down to be popped up above the “warm winter wishes.”

On the piece of paper that would be the background of the bear I did some ink blending with a curved piece of paper I had die cut. I used Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink with a very light hand. I wanted it to look like there were hills of snow in the background. Then I stamped more snowflakes withmy Salty Ocean Distress Oxide over the hills.

I adhered the whole slider together and stamped the “pull me” from Interactively Yours on the pull tab so my recipient would know just what to do whent they received it. I stamped a chevron pattern on the front of a small note card for a bit more interest to adhere my slider on to.

After that I added some Glossy Accents to the candy cane, cup and the bears nose and eyes. Then my card was finished! I think someone will really love this unique, interactive card when they receive it this holiday season.

Alright, moment of truth. Have you sent out your holiday cards yet? If not, is it on your to-do list this week like me?

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed the card I made, and that it inspired you to make an interactive card as well. I’m always overthinking interactive cards, but this was easy to put togehter. I hope you all have a great start to your week! I’ll see you again soon with another card!
