Video: Otter Side Distress Ink Smooshed Backgrounds
Creating backgrounds is one of my favorite things to do as a cardmaker, and using different techniques to do so is always a fun challenge. Hey there it’s Cassie Trask, back with another card video to share with you. In this video you’ll see how I altered three Distress Oxide Ink backgrounds using three techniques. You can watch the video over to the Heffy Doodle YouTube Channel.
All three cards started with a Distress Oxide Ink smooshed background, and then each was altered in a different way using the Wave to Me Stencil. This first card uses some Nuvo Glimmer Paste in the color Moonstone. I love how those inks will react to water and other wet mediums.
My second card uses the same stencil, but it was placed on the background after it had been misted heavily with water. I love the look of this technique and how it alters the background.
My third card was made by simply ink blending with a blending brush and another Distress Oxide Ink color.
All three cards use those adorable otters that were colored with Copic Markers and cut out using their matching dies. Even the insides of these cards got all dressed up! I hope these inspire you to want to get inky and make some backgrounds as well. Thanks so much for stopping by!
