VIDEO: Hot Air Balloon Slimline Card!
Hello Heffy Doodlers!! It’s Julia here and today I am back with a new video! This time I made a slimline card with the gorgeous new Hot Air Balloon!
I started by stamping the images from Nuts About You and Who Let the Dogs Out on Bristol Smooth cardstock and colored them in using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
Then, I die cut all the pieces of the Hot Air Balloon and added ink blending with Distress Oxide inks to anything I didn’t want to stay white. I ran the little basket through my die-cutting machine again with the Woodgrain Texture Background to add stitching details. I used the DL Stitched Slimline Trio to cut two panels, one for the background and one for the hills. For those I also used the Stitched Slopey Joe Border dies!
I ink blended the hills and background with Distress Oxide inks. I added lots of Splatters for more interest. I share all the colors in the video, so feel free to check it out for even more info!
Then, I added the background and one hill to a DL slimline card base – this is the European size, it’s a little shorter but wider than the US version! This width fits the Hot Air Balloon perfectly!! I added some white clouds using the Big Stitched Cloud dies. I adhered all the hot air balloon pieces together and then added my adorable little squirrels. I used the dog house from Who Let the Dogs Out and just added an acorn over the dog bone to turn it into a squirrel home! Finally, I heat embossed the sentiment from Flying High in white onto black cardstock and added the strip over the Hot Air Balloon.
