Spread Joy, not germs BLOG HOP
Hello Heffy Doodlers, It’s Lesley here, and what a treat we have today! I am so excited to be part of the #spreadjoynotgerms blog hop. This hop is MEGA to the MAX, and we are LOVING it!

The goal of this hop is to spread a little joy and happiness, and what is better than bright happy colours, mixed with an interactive card!

For this card I started with some Heffy Doodle cardstock – Simply Tealicious, Banana Split and Plum Pudding. I used my Stitched Imperial Rectangle dies to cut a teal panel, then grabbed my Zapp Attack stencil for some ink blending.
I rarely add ink to coloured card, so this was a fun adventure! I used Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet Distress Oxides – the oxides seem to pop better on coloured card in my opinion. Next I used the Stitched Stars dies to cut a star aperture in the middle. I took a piece of white card, slightly larger than the teal rectangle and stuck the star flat onto the white card, but used foam to raise up the teal panel – with some sequins inside of course!
Have you guys seen the Skinny Imperial Rectangle Frames? What I LOOOOOVVVEE about these, is using the inside piece for layering. I used the largest frame die to cut a purple frame (set it aside for later) then layered my teal and white card panels right on top of the purple. Its the perfect size!
Next up was some stamping – I used the Superdudes stamps for my hero, the shooting stars and flat bottomed clouds, and coloured these in using Copic markers. I added some Wink of Stella Glitter Brush on top of him to make him really sparkle!
For the sentiment I wanted to make that pop against the coloured card, and what better choice than white. I used the Sending Heffy Cuts die and cut this five (yes FIVE) times, and adhered them all together to create a faux-chipboard look. For the word ‘smiles’ I wanted to bring in the yellow colour a bit more, so I reached for some double sided adhesive sheets and some yellow craft foam. I added the sticky sheet to both top and bottom of the foam, then adhered white card on top. With the card and foam stuck together, I used the Stitched Alphabetter dies to cut the individual letters then peeled away the backer to stick them onto the card. Using adhesive sheets is a fantastic way to create instant stickers!
To finish the card, I simply needed to adhere it to a card blank – and although originally I was going to use some teal card, the way it really POPPED against the Banana Split yellow card really made me smile – so the decision was made!
