Sorry I Totally Spaced on Your Birthday!

Hello, crafters! Tallie here and I’m back with some galactic apologies for missing a birthday! What better way to say sorry than from outer space? Plus, this little alien guy is one of my most favourite HD characters! I used a couple of products from the latest release, the You’re Weird stamp set and the coordinating dies, the Spaced Out stamp set and coordinating dies, and the previously released Sorry word die.

I started out with the background, creating a custom lunar scene by using a Stitched Circle die to cut a stencil from some acetate. I used one part of the stencil to ink the moon using some Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide inks and the other part of the stencil to ink the sky with Black Soot, Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks. I splattered on some watered down white acrylic paint to add some stars.

Whilst the background panel was drying, I stamped out the alien and spaceship from the You’re Weird stamp set and a couple of stars and planets from the Spaced Out stamp set. I coloured these in with my Copic markers, sticking to brighter colours to match the space theme. I cut these out with the coordinating dies.

I arranged the alien, stars and planets around the moon on the background panel, popping up the spaceship with some foam tape. For the sentiment, I die cut a couple using the Sorry word die and stamped out the rest from the Spaced Out stamp set.
