Sending Oceans of Love

Hi friends! I can’t believe it’s time for another post! It’s Cassie here, and my weeks have been flying as I try to enjoy some summer sun. We’ve got even more summer birthdays on the way in my family, so I’m back today with a card that you could use for a birthday, but doesn’t necessarily have to be used as one. Let’s take a look!

I started today’s card with an A2 size card panel that I cut down from some 110 lb card stock. I used the new Memo Tape to mask off a small stripe of the card to do some stenciling on. Then I used the Bubble Waves stencil to ink over the open area. I used Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers and some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide to get that beautiful underwater look. As always, I love the look when you spritz Distress Oxides with water, so I went ahead and gave it a couple sprays with my Distress Sprayer.

When the newest release had just come out I was so excited to stamp and color images that I ended up doing more than I needed and had these cuties from Oceans of Love pre-stamped, colored and cut! It’s so nice to be able to have some pieces ready for a card so that you can skip some steps if you’re in a hurry. I popped them up with foam tape onto the card panel once it was dry from spraying.

Next I worked on my sentiment. I stamped part of it directly onto the Distressed area using my Misti so that I made sure I got a good stamp. The ‘oceans’ I stamped on some white paper and used the coordinating die cut to cut it out. It was also popped up with foam tape.

A final touch was adding googly eyes to each of the creatures. I love the playful nature it adds to the card! That’s it for me today! I hope you enjoyed my card. I don’t feel like I use googly eyes as often as I should! How about you? Thanks so much for stopping by and I’ll see you again soon with another card!
